My best friend couldn't and her baby had a bottle and is now in the best routine, she knows how much milk he takes, the minute he will fall asleep and the rest. I'm not too good at the routine thing; #3 was suppose to adhere to a strict routine but it's all gone a bit wrong...oh well, they sleep through eventually (even if, like son#2, it does take a year!)Katherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13317829106688264050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732056506000378557.post-68353885363540178992009-04-28T20:44:00.000+01:002009-04-28T20:44:00.000+01:00Oh man! I always win, but only because I fight harder for it. Like you, said, crawling up the stairs etc etc. Funny funny funny post!Katyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09234345681689434611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732056506000378557.post-52774635155257824962009-03-31T22:43:00.000+01:002009-03-31T22:43:00.000+01:00Jo; I am definitely going to make the most of the ...Jo; I am definitely going to make the most of the opportunity to martyr myself when I return to work; I she smile sweetly and sympathetically when he tells me how tired he is...then plonk myself down on my patch of moral high ground writing end of year reports with one hand and whipping up a culinary delight with the other (because in the land of moral high I can actually cook). It'll be fun. Mind you, not sure how I'm going to tackle the leaky boobs at work....lots of expressing I guess...I did this with d#1, I think, bit of a dim and blurry memory now.
Tara, Sig. Other works late most night (runs own business, so very busy) but always seems surprised at the weekend when the baby kicks off round about tea time. "This is normal" I tell him "chill out and ignore it". One of my friends has invited me on a Spa weekend in a few weeks time, not sure whether I should go; partly because I'm still b/feeding and it will be a weekend of expressing etc and partly because Sig. Other is getting together with friends husband for a weekend at their place in the Lake...with 5 kids...and friends husband wants to go sky diving...hmmmm... mind you at least he will legitimately be "THE MOST TIRED PERSON EVER" for once ;)Katherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13317829106688264050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732056506000378557.post-10665925342907161072009-03-31T21:32:00.000+01:002009-03-31T21:32:00.000+01:00Oh sure, we played that game too. Serve me right for being so smug when he was a new born "ohhhh he sleeps for six hour stretches" I gloated "and he's totally breast fed". How foolish I was, to tempt fate so blatantly. Ahhh well I have to get a life now; I've relied on Cbeebies to entertain my children for too long plus I really, really miss blogging (I didn't actually realize how addictive this thing could be).Katherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13317829106688264050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732056506000378557.post-14423713625259322902009-03-31T16:06:00.000+01:002009-03-31T16:06:00.000+01:00I remember that all I could think about with baby ...I remember that all I could think about with baby 2 was "How long until he is old enough to FERBERIZE?!" and then the second he was, I was brutal.
Then life got much better.
Hope that you find some sleep soon. Even with the loss of an hour she has never risen this early, son#1 wasn't far behind (demanding breakfast...now!!); we have been very naughty and taught d#1 how to use the TV...the baby now operates his own schedule...why oh why??? I think I shall mostly be wearing baby vomit and Wheatabix at work (2 days ain't bad though and it's Y1 and usually Friday afternoon is Golden Time...so 1 and a half days really, sorted!)Katherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13317829106688264050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732056506000378557.post-54910547542993735272009-03-29T13:47:00.000+01:002009-03-29T13:47:00.000+01:00Blimey this brings back memories. Seriously, he cannot compete. You can do the blank stare while looking at a pile of marking, and balancing a small child on your shoulder, enhanced with baby puke down your back and milk stains on your boobs.

I'd get a prize organized so at least you get something nice for being the winner. :DJo Beaufoixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00957369658590225971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732056506000378557.post-39566051088264713392009-03-28T23:10:00.000+00:002009-03-28T23:10:00.000+00:00I feel for you; it really is the hardest part of h...I feel for you; it really is the hardest part of having a baby (well for me it is). My number 3 was an ace sleeper until recently and now wakes at 1am, 4am, 5am and 6am...have to get up at 7am to get the other ready for school so sometimes it seems pointless going to bed at all! Going back to work soon (only 2 days and as a teacher get the good holidays) a bit earlier than I wanted to but a friend offered me a job and things being the way they are with the recession etc; anyway half dreading being knackered but as I pointed out to other half work can provide a bit of rest...must sleep will be up in 2 hours, we should start a middle of the night bloggers group!Katherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13317829106688264050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732056506000378557.post-47070192330307833952009-03-28T20:04:00.000+00:002009-03-28T20:04:00.000+00:00i feel your pain my baby is 4weeks old and i've be...i feel your pain my baby is 4weeks old and i've been up every night with her since she was born. plus my other 3have been ill so been up and down with them at night too. i love the 'whos more tired game' i always win after much debate (sometimes)

amy xand1moremeans5https://www.blogger.com/profile/05872366593739511282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732056506000378557.post-53552499518293096292009-03-27T10:47:00.000+00:002009-03-27T10:47:00.000+00:00Yep, I hear you on that one...I have a usual jolly...Yep, I hear you on that one...I have a usual jolly "ticking along" reponse to most people but the first thing I'd have thought about on waking, is what time I can get back to bed. Trouble is, I've always been more productive in the evening/nighttime...it's hard to shift to a different mode of operation but has to be done!Katherinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13317829106688264050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6732056506000378557.post-78948199430711865222009-03-26T23:15:00.000+00:002009-03-26T23:15:00.000+00:00Yes - I know how you feel.
